NGARUAWAHIA.
A SECOND meeting of persona interested in the formation of a Rowing Club and Aquatic Association at Ngaruawahia, was held in the Town Hall, on Friday evening last, to receive the report of the committee of canvassers appointed at a former meetin)?. It was found that considerable interest bad been evoked amongst persons resident in the district. Fifty-three one pound shares had been taken up, with lists still to come in, and all appearances point to the conclusion that this pretty little township, so admirably suited for aquatic sports, will soon be tho centre of interect for rowing men, both in Auckland and the Waikato district, and the locale of an annual regatta that will be worthy of " The Meeting of the Watew " of the noble Waikato, and the silvery Wai pa. The meeting was adjourned till Fridiiy, June 3rd., when a full meeting of shareholders will be held ; a managing committe appointed, and the Association put in full workine , order. We learn that negotiations are already in progress for the purchase of racing and practice boats in Auckland. —An Occasional Correspondent.
