HORSE STEALING CASE.

.(. (BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Cambridge, Inst Night. Wiremu Tβ Whitu and Hori Tauriki were brought up a Cambridge to-day before Messrs Jno. Fisher and A. Clements, J.P.s charged with stealing two horses belonging to Taire Te Oriu-i, from Mangapiko on 9th of April. Mr Hay appeared fnr Tβ Whitu and Mr Dyer for Tauriki. The evidence proved that the horses belonged to Te Orion and that the accuseds had sold them at Mr Hunter's sale after being cautioned not to do so. The magistrate, much to the astonishment of everyone, discharged the prisoners without hearing the evidence for the defence.
