IMPORTANT DISCOVERY
(BY TELEGRAPA—rUESS ASSOCIATION'.) Wellington, Last Night. Mr Alrick reports that the houlder found In the (fold drift at the Black Creek, near Rinu Weitland, is not only.of greatintere-t minerally, but the discovery may prove of commercial value. The red mineral is the true oriental ruby, an abundmce »t which precious stone exists in the green matrix. It is really astonishing no record can be found of a similar occurrence from any part of the world. The producing of rubies in the presence of small crystals gives promise of large and really valuable ores being found if looked for. Samples of tin ore have been found at Humphrey's Gnlly and they bear the closest resemblance to that found at Mount Bishoff Mine, in Tasmania. He thinks there is a great probability of the prospecting leading to the discovery of a rich parent deposit of this ore.
