The bricklayers of London have givvn notice to their masters to enforce the new rules upon June 1. A strike is feared. April 2, ■' The cotton masters have decided to close the mills on the lGth inst., owing to a dispute with the workmen. Seventeen and a half million of spindles are a floated by the decision. Much distress must necessarily ensue. In Hartlepool and Newcastle numbers are starving owing to the miners' strike, and it is feared that the result .vill be a reduction of 20 per cent, in wages. ! Two hundred vessels are idle on the I Tyne, and there is much distress among the seamen.
