THE CUSTOMS RETURNS. (BY TELEGRAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION). Wellington, List Night. The Customs revenue for March was £145,0-11, against £122,713 for 4 March last year. Auckland contributed £32,310; Wellington,£'29,l2o ; Ohristchnreh, £22,804 ; Dunedin, £34,252. Tho l'.uer Duty was £500 S. Auckland, £1208; Wellington, £580; Christchurch, £1050; Dunedin, £1210. The Customs revonuo for the year whs £1,025,174, and the estimate was £1,535,000, giving a surplus (if £90,174 The deficit in Beer Duty is £2232. The total revenue was £57,708, against an estimate of £00,000. No returns arc available yet other b anches, but it is thought that Stamps and Territorial returns may be slightly bebelow the mark. It was hoped that the railway would show a surplus of some £10.000 ; but the continuance of wet weather last month interfered with the flow of revenue.
