# (Before Capt. Jackson, R.M.). Besides the Picturesque Atlas cases previously mentioned, there was an information for assault against Mr Perry, of Te Kuiti, for throwing water on a native named Puna, Mr Oruickshank appeared for the informant, and Mr Dyer for the defendant. The evidence was, as usual, rather contradictory, but His Worship considered an assault had been proved, and fined defendant ss, but as it seemed to hi in very trifling, he would not allow any costs. A second information for abusive language was dismissed on technical grounds. Mainwahing v. J. P. Hamlet.—Mr Gresham for plaintiff. Judgment for amount claimed, £2 10s, and costs 17s Gd. Several other cases were settled out of Court.
