According to the census taken on the night of the sth April, 1891 —the Government returns for which have lately come to hand—the total population of the County of Waikato is 3,588; this includes the Ridings of Rangiriri, Tamahere, Kirikiriroa and Cambridge, and the Borough of Cambridge. The County of Waipa has a total population of 4,607; this includes the Ridings of Pukekura, Rangiaohia, Mangapiko and Tuhikaramea, the town districts of Ngaruawahia, Kiliikihi and Te Awamntu, and the Borough of Hamilton. The County of Raglan has a total population of 1090. The population of the Boroughs of Hamilton and Cambridge, respectively, is 1212 and 850.
