Lono Onslow, writing from Sydney to Mr Malcolm Nic.i'l, U'h chairman of the Harbour Board, states that lie hail been in conversation with the Admiral about tin) proposed erection of A'lrniralty stores at the Calliope dock. The Admiral was quit-: satisfied with the liberal offer marl'! by Mr Nicol on behalf of the Harbour Board, in reference to the grant of land for this purpose, and he understood that the Admiralty willl be strongly urged to proceed with the work at once. Concluding his letter, Lord Onslow say: — " What a touching farewell Auckland gave us. I shall never forget it."
