(BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH -COPYRIGHt.) London March 6. Mr Henry Taite has withdrawn his offer of eighty thousand pounds for the erection of a picture gallery at South Kensington and also his offer to present a collection of pictures as a nucleus for a national gallery of British art, because the Chancellor of the Exchequer has failed to provide a suitable site for the building. The Press express a general regret that the splendid offer was not accepted.
