THE INFLUENZA.
In every place upon this globe. Gn whnre you will or when, Sir, You can't escape that small microbe That causes influenza. In Auckland, Sydney, or New York, In Berlin, Paris, Windsor, The folke do nothing else but talk About the influenza. It goes by railroad or by ship To every town, and then, Sir, They're seized bv what some call la grippo And others influenza. The bacillus is very small, So say our learned men, Sir ; Add yet it puzzles doctors all To cure the influenza. I had it when I was a lad, ,And don't want it again, Sir ; It made me feel so very bad That dreadful influenza. It gives you pains in every limb ; You cough and sneeze, and then, Sir, Your tears flow out, your eyes grow dim, When you get influenza. I wish an antidote I knew, But that's beyonil my ken, Sir ; I'd publish it the whole world through And atop the influenza. Nkmo.
