FATEKANGI V. TUJIIKAEAMEA. Glorious weather, together with the great interest evinced by the people of Tuhikaramea, drew an unusually large number of spectators of both sexes tr> witness the above match, which was expected to be one of the best games of thu season. The result, however, was a win for Paterangi by 35 runs, both innings beine played out. The match was played in one of Mr Vicker's paddocks. The wicket played very rough, and, in fact, one of the worst we have yet played on in the Waikato. Paterjugi went in first, but made a poor stand, only Richdale. Wnraley, Higgineon, and N. Bowden making any score, and the innings soon ended fnr 19. Tuhikaramea then made 50 runs before being disposed of, A. Livingston being top scorer with 13, and S. Reid 12. Paterangi in their second attempt made 97, Macfarlane, C. Bowden, and Ryburn being the principal contributors with 28. 23, and 11. This left Tuhikaramea G7 to win, but they could only put up 31 against the bowling of C. Bowden and Worsley, the latter of whom made some fine catches at short stop. The fielding of the Paterangi .nen was good during the second innings of the Tuhikaramea men, who also fielded well in both innings. The following are the scores :—
