Autumn Meeting, and there was a very large attendance. A The following are the details of the principal event 0 . The V.R.C. Wilson's bf La Tosca Bst 7ib 3 Betting; : 5 to 2 un Strathmore, 4 to 1 against Oxide. The favourite was never troubled, winning in a canter by two and aquartpr lengths, two lengths separating the second and third. Time, 3m 17fs, the last six furlongs being traversed in lm TheNuwMARKEr Handicap, a swpepstakes of 20sovs each, with £1500 added. For three-year-olds and upwards. Threequarters of a mile. Mr W. Cook's b g The Harbour Light, 7.-<t2lb ... 3 When the flag fell, Bungebah was one of the first away next rails, Bpi, Swertha, St. Blaize, Gladstone, and Penance also being conspicuous. As the field enternd the course proper Barefoot ran to the head of the field, loud shouts heralding his feat as he assumed three lengths' lead. At the distance post Barefoot had shot hisbolt,and Morrison letting Wild Ruse out, she forged her way to the front, and won by a length and a quarter from Fortunatiia, who came with a great run. The Humour Light was threequartets of a length off in third place, and then followed Gladstone, St. Blaize, The Seine, Bungebah, Reprisal, Utter, and Paris in that order. The three last to finish were Burlesque, Swertha, and Avondale. Time, lm. 15Js. The Essendon Stakes, a sweepstakes of lOsovs each, with SOOsovs added. Weight for aae, One mile and a-half. Mr W. R. Batting ; 3to 1 against each Zalinski and Highborn; sto 1 Freedom, Tirailleur,' and Telephone, Zalinski won confortobly by three-quarters of n length. Tirailleur was fourth, and Freedom fifth.
