REPLY TO "TRUTH:'
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Your correspondent "Truth " askn for a "new and advanced definition of nothing, however wild and absurd." I suppose that, being what he is, he still implicitly believes in " wild and absurd" statements; likes them, I suppose, by reason of their having so long ministered to his growth ar<d faith, i wonder if among the following definitions there will be found one to suit: —(1) A bung-hole without a barrel round it; (2) a tune played by the picture of nobody; (3) the arguments used by " Truth." In the event of his not accepting one of the foregoing, I suppose he will still persist in asking for a brand new nothing—that is to say, an hermaphrodite nonentity from which tj breed ad libitum. What, " Truth " ? If it bean entity, he says, fresh forms can be made from it; if it be not- but still a thing (entity) mark you—it may breed per se. Someone, Mr Editor, has truly said "Though bad logic may ask much dexterity to unravel, and old prescription may require much erudition to expose its rotten grounds, yet spiritual gibberish is still better entrenched and harder to be approached, from its having no weak side of common sense."—l am, &c., Gleaner.
