Auckland. Last Night. Thk appointment of Mr James Carroll, M.H.R., as member of the Executive in the Ballance Ministry was t« have been signed by the Governor this afternoon. Mr Carroll will subsequently proceed to Wellington and be sworn in.

Mr Buckley does not propose to receive deputations, if there be any in store for him, until after the departure of the Governor on Wednesday. After that Mr Buckley will probably be at the Ministers' room, m the departmental building, daily. ____
