ANOTHER MURDER.
TWO MEN ARRESTED ON SUSPICION. (by tblkgraph.—fhkss association). Mastbhton, Last Night. A MAN named John Dalton was found murdered at- Ekotahuna this morning. Ho is believed to be a resident of either Upper ur Lower Hutt. The body was found at 8 o'clock this morning with the throat cut and another wound on the left side. The body was then alive, and the constable stitched up the wound, but deceased succumbed two hours' after. Inspector Thomson wired to Detective Herbert at Pahiatua to proceed to investigate the case. Dalton was a grass-seeder, from Mangaone Valley, and came in yesterday with two mates. He was drinking, and a quarrel took place about midnight. Dalton was found about 8 o'clock, with a wound several inches in length in his throat, and a stab in his back. It is supposed that the murderers have left the district. Later. Two men, Harrison and White, were arrested this afternoon by Constable Roche on suspicion of having murdered Walton. Both were in the company of deceased laßt night in his tent. On accused were found two knives. The inquest takes place to-morrow.
