ALEXANDRA.
Lecture.—The Rev. Mr Haselden gave a very instructive and interesting lecture here on Saturday evening last in St. Saviour's Church, with lime light, illustrating pictures of the life of Christ, from his birth to
the Crucifixion. There was a large audience present and the reverend lecturer was most attentively listened to. Solus and hymns appropriate to tho scenes pictured were effectively sung by the Misses F. Bowden, Allan and Aubin, and the members of the choir, thus making it a pleasant and and rational evening's enjoyment.
The Weather. —The rain yesterday has donn an immense amount (if Rood in the district to the feed where it fell, which as usual was very partial. Must of our farmers who grow grain crops have it now harvested, the few lots Htill out will not, np to the present, be in any way damaged by the lato rain-fall.
