WAIKATO AGRICULTURAL SHOW.
A MRETING of the general committee appointed to carry out this show, was held in Delaney's Hali, Ohaupo, on Tuesday afternoon. There were present, Messrs n> Fisher (chairman), (ie>i. Clarke, R. Reynolds, J. Barugh. G. W. Sare, R. Fisher, S Steele, N. 1. Hunt, G. Ederecmnbe, F. \V. Luni?. G. Way, J. Wills, E. Lake, W. M. Douglas, Jno. McNicol and F. R. Foster. •
Apology.—A letter win received fror Sir C. Day, apologising For his absence, am suggesting that a prize be put on th schedule for the best pen of yearling cteers Report.—Mr John Fisher reported tha the ground committee had again visited th ground, which is now being prepared f<) the necessary Dens, a plan of which wa laid on the table by Mr N. I. Hunt. Th plana were explained by Mr Hunt, am criticised by those present, general ap proval being expressed with the prn posed arrangements. The estimated cosi of the material was £171 12a 61 for the cattle pens, of which there woulc he 112 of Bft. by 12ft. ; for the sheep pens Mr John McNicol offered to lend thi hurdles, of which there would be 500 re quired, giving 130 pens. The Chairmfu moved that the plan as prepared by M Hunt be approved and adopted for carryinj out the show f'ir 1892. Seconded by M Baruzh. In reply to Mr Clark, Mr Hun said it was optional whether the yards wen to be erected as a permanency, or whethe they would be taken down. The plans da not provide for piers or horses, but there 11 amplo room for these in the ground that t being cleared. The chairman's motion wai then put and carried. Name.—ln accordance with notice given Mr E. Lak9 moved that the name of thi Association be the AVaikato Agriculture and Pastoral Association, that the member ship be 5s per annum, and the life member ship £2 2s, and that a general subscripts Hat be opened to obtain funds toward carrying out the show for 1892. Seconde( by Mr Goo. Clark.—Mr N. I. Hunt move< us an amendment to the latter part that thi fees be, membership, 10a Gd; member ship with privileges £1 Is ; life member ship, £10 10*.— Seconded by Mr Johr McNicol.—The name of the Association wa fixed in accordance with Mr Lake's motion On a show of hands being taken Mr Hunt amendment was carried by 10 to 3, and thi Toting on the motion was vice versa. Schedule.—Mr Clark moved that thi schedule for the show of 1892 be considered He thought for the first year the Associa tion would have to confine itself to prizei for stock and dairy produce. Mr Edge oiimbe seconded the motion. Mr Dqusla moved as an amendment that the consideration of the prize schedule be deferred unti gome idea can be formed ae to the amoun of funds that would be available. Secondei by Mr Lake. After some discussion, thi motion was carried, and a schedule pre pared by Mr John McNicol was read. M Edgecumbe, proprietor of This Waikatc Times, offered to print slips of the achedul for distribution amongst the members of tin committee, so as to allow of their makini suggestions, to be considered at a. meetini to be held at Ohaupo on 23rd February. Two Days' Show.—Mr R, Reynold moved that a two days' show be held Seconded by Mr Lake and carried. Subscriptions.—The secretary was in structed to procure subscription books, am forward them to the varii.us members of thi committee to canvas the district for sub sorptions. Secretary anii Treasurer.—Mr K Reynolds moved that Mr Martin Bntler b. appointed secretary and treasurer, at a re numeration to be fixed by the committee, —Seconded by Mr Hunt and carried. A vote of thanks to Mr Edgecumbe for his offer to print the schedules, and to the chairman closed the meeting.
