CASUALTIES.
(BIT TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION). Dunedin, Last Night. A BOY named Mirphy, the seven-years-old son of a Fairfax settler, was killed by a fall from a horse. Mrs Emily Shalland, 30 years of age, the wife of a railway surfaceman, died yesterday under chloroform, while having some teeth extracted by Mr Myers, dentist. Dr McPherson administered the antusthetic, and shortly after noticed the pulse cease suddenly. His efforts to restore animation were without avail. Chhistchcrch, Last Night. Mrs Beattie was drowned this morning whilst trying to cross the Hapuka River, Kaikoura, in a van. lJeceased, with the van aud horses, was washed out to sen. Deceased was the wife of Mr Beattie, of Black and Co., Christchurcb.
