NELSON JUBILEE.
(BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION). Nelson, Tuesday. The following are tho results of to-day's events, omittiug yacht races, which were of local interest only :— Maiden Fourlnriggkd, one mile ; prize, £(>.—Wellington Rowing Club, 1; Star Boating Club (Wellington), 2 ; Nelson Rowing Club, 3 ; Wakatu Rowing Club (Nelson), 4. This race was rowed in the worst water of the day, and the Wellington crew won by three lengths. Junior Four-oaued Outriggers, one ana a-lialE miles ; prize, £S.—Nelson Rowing Club, 1; Wakatu Boating Club. 2 ; Star .Boating Club, 3 : Wellington Rowing Club, 4. Champion Four-oared Outriggers with coxswain, two miles ; prizes, £25 and £10. —Canterbury Rowing Club (M. Laurie, J. G. Daly, R. Speight, and N. L. Mcßeath), 1; Star B.atuigClub, 2; Wellington Rowing Club, 3, Wakatu Boating Club also started. Passing the wharf Canterbury led and weve rowing very easily, and the race was now, bar accidents, n moral for Canterbury, and tlio interest centered as to whether tho Stars or the Wellington would secure second honours. As they neared the winning post the Cantorbury stroke gave a few smart strokes, and crossed the line six lengths in front of Stars, who in turn were two lengths oif Wellington.
Champion' Sculls, one mile and a-balf. Prize, t's ; winner to be Amntnur Champion of New Zealand for the year, M. Keefe, Auckland Rowing Club, 1; E, J. Rose, Wellington Rowing Club, 2 ; A. W. Newton, Star Boating Club, 3. J. S. Hill, Wellington Rowing Club, alsc started. J. Y. Daly, Canterbury Rowing Club, did not start. Keefe, who was a hot favourite, took the lead shortly after the fall of the flag, and shot over the line two lengths in front of Roso. Newlon, who had pulled a very plucky race fainted, and fell out of his boat just as ho reached tin' judge's post. Keefe, who was in splendid trim, received many congratulations on his victory, which he secured very easily.
Nki.son, List Night. Shortly after 0 o'clock Shis morning, a start was miula to cut off tho concluding regaltn events. The weather for tho Paircared Rice was as smooth as glass, but for the other races there was a bit of a jobble on. The following are the results :— CIIAJIriON- l'Alll-OAHKI) OUTItKiGKIiS, one ami a-half miles. I'ri/.0, £10. Star Boatin? Club (Wellington), 1; Canterbury Rowing Club, 2. Wellington Rowing Club also started, hut lost what little chance they had by erratic steering. Won by two lengths. Wellington gave up. Ciu.vi'io.v L>onii.K .Sculls, one and a-half miles. Prize, £10. Wellington Rowing Club, 1 ; Star Boating Club, 2. Canterbury Rowing Club also started. Sknioh Ishigged Fours, two miles Prize, £10, Walcatn Rowing Club, 1 ; Wellington Rowing Club, 2, These'were the only starters. It was a good race for a mile, after which the Wakatu drew away anil won by several lengths. '
