HAMILTON LIGHT INFANTRY.

At :i mooting of the officers and non-com-missioned officers of the above corps, held on Friday evening, it was resolved that parades will be held in future every Thursday eveuing, instead of fortnightly as heretofore. This stsp was considered adviv.iblo, as it will enable the number of parades required by the regulations to bo put in early in the year, and give those who are generally engaged at shearing and harvest time an opportunity of making themselves efficient before the busy season sets in. It was also decided to pay volunteers for each parade they attend during the coming year, and to strictly enforce fiiio* for non-attendance; thoso absont without leavo, besides losing the amount they would have earned, being lined in addition. No payment for attendance will he made until the end of the your, when those volunteers who have not nnide themselves efficient will, of course, receive no pay. Lieut. Dyer and the non-commis-sioned officers w'era appointed a shouting committee, .ind it is intended to awaken an increased intsrest in shooting dnriu? the year by holding competitions and matches with other corps more frequently than has lately been the case. Morris tubes and ammunition, fot indoor practice, are to be obtained, and it is hoped by this means to arousfl enthusiasm amongst the younger members of the corps for rifle practice.
