CAMBRIDGE DOMAIN BOARD.

The adjourned annual meeting of the above Board was held last week, there being piesent : Messrs T. Wells (chairman) E.

Hewitt and R. Kir-kwood. The minutes of the last ordinary meeting held on October 15th, were read and duly confirmed. Lkasks. —It was reported that Lot 17 had been leased to Mr.T. R S. Richardson at £5 per annum for five years, Lots Go to

68 at Cambridge West, to Mr R. Reynolds, at 5s per acre per annum. A bonus of £13 10s had been paid on the latter sections, that being the amount of rent duo by the defaulting lessee who had lieen ejected. Transfer ok Lkasks.— Mr Jas. Young wrote asking to have his lease of Lot 70 transferred to Dr. Wnddington. Declined. Mr J. Mynott asked to bo permitted to transfer the lease of Lot 8 to Mr A. Mc

Farlane. objection. Bathing in the Lakh.— A. letter from the Borough Council was read, in which that body olfered to donate £10 towards the cost of material for erectinpa bathing: house and hoardings at the north-east end of Lake Te Kontu, if the Board gave the matter its favourable consideration anil would undertake the building. Resolved that the Board accept the amount offered by the Borough Councillor cost of material, and that the Borough Works Goinmitte be asked to co-operate with the Board in arranging "about the work. [We understand Mr Philip Cooper has been appointed to do the work, so no time has been lost in getting the matter|underway.l _ Tub Cam bridge Wkst PunriON.— Thu petition for a reduction of the rents of Domain Lauds was adjourned till next meeting, neither of the member* for the west district being present. Whitakkr Tkrkace.—All opinion from the Borough Council's solictor re the difliculties, in the way of closing this nwd, w.is read. The chairman thought it would bo expedient to leave this portion of the proposed alteritions out of the scheme for tho present, and that the member for the district be asked to remove the difficulty by getting a short Act passed. The matter was left in the hands of the chairman to make arrangements with the Borough Council for carrying out his sugge>tion. Balance-sheet.—Tho balance-sheet for the year ending December 3lst was as fallows Receipts: Rents. £157 14s Bd. Of this amount Cambridge li ist furnished £70 IDs Gd, and Cambridge West £77 15* 2d. Expenditure t Debit balance December 31st, 1800, £13 10s 8d; wages, as jjer contract, £72 15s; extra labour, £15 Is Cd ; tools, r>3 6d ; purchase of trees, seeds, eta., £2 18s 7d ; printing, etc., £1 3s 2d ; stationery, 14s 3d; secretary's salary, £8 15s; borough rates, £2; interest on overdraft, 18s 5d : cash in bank and in hand, December 31st, 1891, £37 18s 2d. Total, £15714s Sd. Of this amount £S1 16s Cd had been expended on Cambridge East, and £21 0 s 4d at Cambridge West.—The balance-sheet was approved of, and the chairman was

authorised to sign it. Rusts. —There being rents to the amount of £75 5.i lOd due to the 10th November last, the secretary was instructed to collect the same without delay.

JOiection of Chairman.--On the motion of Mr Kirk wood, seconded by Mr Hewitt, Mr T. Wells was unanimously re-elected chairman. —Iu moving the motion, Mr Kirkwood said they could mt get a better chairman than Mr Wells. —Mr Wells thanked the members, and regretted he could not devote more time to the business of the Board, which to him was a "labour of love." Caretaker. —Mr T. Browne was reelected to this office, the salary and terms being similar to last year's. This concluded the business.
