RAGLAN.
Removal of Post-Office.—The necessary alterations having been made in the building known as the Council Chambers, Raglan for the Post and Telegraph-office, business commenced in the new office on Tuesday December 1st, with Dr. Bay as officer in charge. Sheep.—Between one and two thousand sheep have arrived for the Te Akau Block. coming overland from Napier and more are soon to follow. CUTTER CORALIE.—The cutter Coralie arrived here lately with a general cargo, and proceeded up the harbour to unload a turnip drill and a large quantity of turnip manure etc., for Johnston Bros., at Waitetuna Heads. Mutual Improvement Society. — A meeting of this society was held in the Library, Raglan, Mr Burton in the chair. After the usual business was concluded .Mr Henry read an interesting paper upon " Mark Twain, his life and works,'' giving several readings from the latter with his usual ability. Mr Williams and others took part in the debate.
