CRICKET.
The first of the series of matches arranged by the Waikato Cricket Association were played on Siturdiy, when the Tuhikaramea Club met Cambridge at Hamilton, and Hamilton met Paterangi at Paterangi. Below are the results of the latter match : HAMILTON V. I'ATEKANGI. This match was played at Paterangi, in one of Mr J. H. Scott's paddocks. The Hair.iltou captain (Mr C. J. W. Barton) winning the toss, sent his men to the wickets, and they put together 117 runs, Browning being top scorer with 63 runs (not out)— got by good cricket, no chances being given. Smith and Ewen played well for 12 runs each, the former hittiug with his usual freedom. After luncheon the Patelangi team went in, and weie all disposed of for 34 runs—33 less than Hamilton. They followed on, and in th-ir second innings scivd 72 runs, thus l"av'ng the visit rs vict rions liv an inniners mid 11 runs tosrar-'.
