ST. ANDREW'S, CAMBRIDGE.
Monday being St. Andrew's Day, choral service was held in the above Church at 8 p.m., at which His Lordship Bishop Cowie preached. There was a fair congregation. The Hishop took for his text !lch eh. Mathew. 3G v. to the end. His Lordship said it afforded him pleasure to acceot the invitation of their Archdeacon to say a fe.w words to them about missions, on this their anniversary day. He explained how the English Church and also tho sister churches in America and other parts of tho world had agreed to bring the subject prominently before their congregations at a cert tin timo and ask for help to carry on the good work. Ho spoke in the highest terms of tho (irst bishop of Now Zealand, Bishop Selwyn, and of his son who had lately had to relinquish the Melanosian Mission in consequence of his health failing. Ho also pleaded earnestly on behalf of the Maori Mission, and Htated the collection taken up would go to swell the Native Pastorato Fund, which sorely needed assistance. At the conclusion of the service many stayed to have a few words with the Bishop.
