DEATH OF INGOMAR.
Mi( Jaiikii Aixwm,!,, of Rrlwond, Cambridge, had the misfortune to lose hid valuable thoroughbred stallion lugomar yesterday afternoon, the horse suddenly dropping dead in Ha-niltm V,;\<t. This loss is u vrry severe, one to the di.-tnet, and especia'ly so to Mr Allwill. As a sirj, Ingomar was oni of tlie best wj li-iv.; ever had in tli", district, his stock being good useful suit-;, well adapted for all purposes, a-id were coining givatly into requisition. Ingninav was himself very successful, both in the prize ring and when the colours were up. his last .success being at the late horso pirada in Cambridge, when he was adjudged the best thoroughbred stallion in Waikati, and his prize stock on exhibition that dvy were valued at £280. As soon as Mr J. McXicol heard of Mr Allwill's serious loss, with his usual generosity he at once placed the services of his thoroughbred stallion Aorangi at Mr Allwill's disposal for the remainder of the season. Aorangi is a fine upstuiding bay horse of 15J hands, three years uld, and of the right sort t> get good stock. He is by Captivatm- nut of Rangi, and is possessed of a splendid temper. At the late Cambridge Show he was placed second to Ingomar, but it was not then expected that before the end of the season he would be called on to fill his successful competitor's place as a siro. We are very sorry for Mr Allwill's great loss, but hope that with Aorangi he will be well supported by his previous patrons, and that he may have a succe3sfnl season, to in some measure compensate him for the serious pecuniary loss he has sustained. Breeders have it in their power to do Mr Allwill a real good service at this juncture by reserving what mares they,_cau for him.
