TRIAL OF SPRAYING MACHINES.
Fko.H thn October number of the New Zealand Farmer, we sjnthur some interesting particulars of a public competition in Englanrl between tlio well known spraying machines "trawsonizer and the mistilicr, a now machine invented f:«r the same purpose, by Mr It. Muirhead, of the Kentish Engineering Works. The trial toulc place at Greatness farm, Sevenoaks. Both machines did their work ; which consisted of spraying and washing hops, currant bushes, etc., in a very .satisfactory manner, but if anything, tho most favour was given by those present, to the mistilicr. as requiring less water, and being more under control. We look forward to seeing these machine.-! very numerous in this colony, where they aro urgently needed to cope with our fast increasing insect pests. Usual sale at the Hamilton Auction Mart to-day.
