DROWNED IN THE WAIKATO RIVER.
« On Saturday morning tho men employed on the paddle steamer Freetrader found the body of a man floating in the Waikato Hiver near Taupiri. Tho body, which had the apnearaiica of having been in llin water for Koine tune, waa taken to Mrs l.ovoll'n hotel, and tho police wore communicated with.
Vestorday Mr \V. N. .Saarancke, coroner, proceeded to Taupiri to hold an inquest on the remains. A jury of six was empannelled, Mr \V. Melting being elected foroman. Mr Shaw, firmer, of Tanuheru, recognided tho body as that of his brother, Robert, who disappeared from his home at Cainbriuce a fortnight ago. There was no ovidenco to show how deceased came by his death, and a verdict of " Found drownod " wan returned. The clothing worn by deceased was exactly as described to the police when he was reported as missing, with the exception that he had no coat on and his gold watch and chain were cone when the body waa found, but there was no suspicion of foul play.
