THE COLLEEN BAWN.
It is with great pleasure that we notify that tho Hamilton Amateur Dramatic Company has decided to perform another of Dion Buicicuilt's famous Irish dramas—viz., the Colleen Biwn. This is one of Biucicauit's masterpieces, abounding alternately with humour and pathos. The company have had their ranks considerably strengthened bv the introduction of several ladies and gentlemen, who, judging from the rehearsals, give great promise of histrionic talent. The scenery is by Mr Neville Thornton, the eminent scenic artist, whose painting of the scenery for the Princess Ida opera, lately produced liy the Auckland Amateur Opera Club, elicited special commendation from the Auckland Press. Tho opening seme—the L iko of Killarney bv moonlight—is especially striking, Judging by the company's previous efforts, we have every confidence in the drama being put on in their usual first-class style. The whole of the stage management is under the personal supervision of Captain Reid, which is a sufficient guarantee that things will run smoothly. The orchestra will, as usual, be under the conductorsliip of Mr Meachem. The fact that the company intend to present half the proceeds from Doth nights to the Hamilton Public Library, combined with the usual popular prices, is sufficient to secure bumper houses on Wednesday and Thursday nest.
