LATEST AUCKLAND NEWS.
(BV TKLKGBAI'H.— OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Auckland, Last Night. John Lennib, an employee at the gas works, whs on the wharf near the Kauri Timber Company's premises, in Customsstreet, this morning, about 20 minutes past 5 o'clock, when he noticed a woman standing up to her neck in the harbour. He called to hor to come out which she did. TJpon being questioned she said that she had trouble and was trying to drown herself. When taken to the Hospital she gave her name as Mary Morris. The Minister of Lands replying to a telegram urging the construction of a bridle track from Stratford to the junction with the Central Railway, states it would cost £6,800 or £100 per mile, and no funds are available.
