Isaacs' lload. —Ke the c.onveyaiv- nf trnii-der of this mad, which had been sU'ii-fl and was then sent In Mr llav for him to obtain the ninrt;:a""e's aJnn <, he reported as follnws : The transfer is valueless. first, because it purp irts tn transfer the property to a body which has no existence inlaw. Secondly, the transfer is mado to the " I'mko Co.mt.v nn behalf t,f Her Majesty the mid as this creates a trust in favour of the (Jiieeii. the transfer canr.nt lie registered, ns it is useless. Thirdly, tha certifying ntficor has not any authority to certify to the correctness "f a transfer ; his business is with plans, and in any case ha has certified to the correctness nf a transfer, which is palpablv incorrect. He then asked if the council wished a correct transfer drawn.—Mr Snides said the conveyance had been drawn up by Mr Kisfllinpr, the Registrar of Deeds, and these were the conveyances that the Covcrnment were divine free of charge. He know of several transfers that had been made upon similar conveyances, two being in Kirikiriroa. —The chairman had nn doubt similar conveyances were, being use'.', and he knew that many lands had been wrongly gazetted in rtast years. The conveyance should have been made direct to the f|neen without ttie I'iako Council being mentioned. The Council should have all its deeds properly prepared, and he moved that Mr Hay draw nut a conveyance in proper form and obtain the necessary signatures. —This was agreed to.

The Tk Auoha Memhkk.— Colonel Kramer wrote tho clerk on October Bth from the Thames: I only yesterday recoiled here, your lettor (if tho 21st September addressed to me at Wellington and which must have got there after I left. I need not now enter into particulars as the wretched Counties Act Amendment is now a thins of the past. 1 should, however, before next session of Parliament, wish to have an interview and consultation with your chairman, in case the Hill should crop up again.—The Chairman said ho should probably have an opportunity of discussing the matter with Colonel Fraser before next session of I'aliament.

Mon.iiixsvn.LE Ckmktkkt.— This cemetery has been fenced, a Rate hmier, and in every way prepared for n<n ; all that is required being the completion of the deeds. Regarding these Mr Hay telegraphed from

Auckland: "Cemetery deed in hands Estates Company two months, hope to register to-morrow.

Tub Waiwioxgomai Tkajiwat.— Mr T. Gavin reported :—" I have the honour to submit the following reports on the working of your tramway for the pasttive weeks, i have had live men working at repairs and threu running this line. The men at repairs have been putting in sleepers on the horse grado between Bnl.'er's and the May Qu°cn grades, and there still remains to be done about three chains which I would have finished if 1 had the short sleepers to do it with. I have now started mi Butler's incline to repair it. The lino has been working Ul days, and wo have sent down 20U trucks of quartz, 10 trucks of wood, and five trucks of sundries ; total 228 trucks, and the freight amounts to £3S l!Kj. There are several trucks out of ordor and want repairing; three brakes are broken, three wheely loose and one bearer broken. Thoy ought to be Heeu to at once to prevent accident.—Mr Gavin was instructed to have the trucks, referred to in the report repaired.— The Warden of the Goldlields wrote under date October 2'Jth : " In referenco to yours of the Bth ultimo, forwarding a copy of the proposed conditions of lease of the Waiorongomai tramway for my approval, 1 have the honour to inform you tint I think tlm charge of -Is lid per (nick for con.eying quartz 100 high. It will prohibit low grade stulf being treated, and, as you are aware, the majority »f the ores at Wainroiigouru are of that class. I should say I>s t}d per truck would be a fairer price if your Council can see their way to make Mir> reduction. With this exception, I think the conditions of lease, satisfactory.''—The Chairman said Mr Xwrthcroft's suggt'.-.tion Would ciut:.il the existing "Warden's conditions." Ho thought it would bo well to write, calling Mr Northcroft's attention to the fact that ho was breaking the maximum charge made by his predecessor.—Cr. Hanmer contended that all contractors would ''barge the maximum rate, which would kill the industry, if such maximum was fixed at Is (id per truck.—Cr. Hemes said he was afraid the tramway business would become a monopoly if the maximum was fixed at a high rate. They must consider the majority of ratepayers affected, wtio wore the mine owners and miner...— Cr. Harrison said it alfected all the county. A maximum of 4s lid meant the Council having the tramway ou its hands.—Cr. Herries thought the Council had hardly treated thu representatives of the Te Aroha riding m a fair manner. Whatever th-y had proposed in connection with the tramWay had been opposed by the rest of the members, and yet they (Cr. Hanmer and the speaker) were working for the benefit of the ratepayers they represented. — The Chairman moved: "That a reply be sent to the warden, pointing out that the maximum prico was fixed at 4s tid in the original conditions under which the Council acquired the right to work tho tramway, and that the lessee will, of course, have the right to reduce the charges at any time.—This was seconded by Cr. Horroll.— Cr. Herries moved as an amendment: "That tho warden's suggestion be accepted, and the maximum charge be fixed at 3s (id per truck. —This was seconded by Cr. Hanmer.''—On the amendment being put it was carried, the voting being:—For : Crs. Herries, Hanmor, Homey and Harrison. Against: Crs. Horrell, Browne and tho Chairman. —Cr. Hanmor reported that he and Cr. Herries had purchased the tramway horses and harness at a cost of £10, ou behalf of the Council.—U was resolved to lease the horses as a part of the plant along with the tramway.—Mr T. Gavin was authorised to collect all tramway charges for carriage monthly, and forward same to county clerk on receipt.— The tramway will probably be leased at the December meeting of the Council.

If the Council will supply the pipes at Cambridge we will get them put in, and a go id crossing made."—The Council resolved to supply the pipes as requested.
