KIHIKIHI.

PiTXrnTiui'Tif! BluniJK.—Tho attention of the public has.several tunes been drawn to the manner in which this bridge has, siuce ifs erection, been neglected, both by Government and the local ant.horties, but up to the preseut, no steps have been taken, or even attempted, towards causing the bridge to be atcended to. Although erected tome six years since at a cost to the country something near £1,500, it has never yet been thought necessary t» paint it, or even to prevent its being used as » receptacle for such surplus mud and water as may lodge or be carried thereon, which indeed tends to reflect discredit on those in authority. The recent wet weather has now caused a corisidorablo quantity of tho approach on tho Kihikihi side to bo washed away thereby rendering the bridgo unsafe for either wheel or horso traffic, and in such condition it is likely to remain for at least a short time. The Town Board was recently informed us to this, and although tho bridge is situated a long way out of its jurisdiction has taken immediate steps to have the same properly cared for. The Board has offered, upon receiving a subsidy for that purpose, to accept the control and management thereof, so no doubt, before long, tho Government will hand it over, if not to the Town Board, at least to the Waipa County Council, or Rangiaohia Road Board, when, but not before, complaints are likely to cease._ The board's action in tke matter is indeed worthy of praise. Thb Nkw Elkctoram*— The Town Board has decided to ae-sist the Waipa County Council in supporting any objection which that body might consider advisable to make with respect to the proposed alteration in the boundaries of the electorates.

Sroitrs.—A meeting has been convened for Friday next, in order to appoint a committee and arrange a programme for the usual sports to be held here on New Tears' Day. It is to be hoped that the attendance will be large, as it is intended to form a strong committee.
