BREACHES OF THE BEER DUTY ACT.

Hamilton, Saturday.— (Before McPher.son and Mr I'. J. vim Stunner,

J.l'.s.) Chahi.lvS In'NKS, brewer of Hamilton, was charged on two informations charging him with not having his name painted in full upon two barrels. Mr Hudson Williamson appoared f..r the Co'leetor of Customs, and Mr R. YV. Dyer, of Hamilton, for tlu defendant.

The defendant p'eaded "guilty," and urged extenuating circumstances.—The Bench imposed a fine of as and costs .t'i lis lid for each offence.
