(uv TELEGRAPH.—OWN COKHESPONIJENT.) Auckland, Last Night, At the Police Court to-day a proliiliitioii order was issued against thn supply nf liquor to Alfred Robert (ireenway. Mr Lawry, M.H.R., left for the South bv the Uairloclc this afternoon intending to proceed by train from New Plymouth to Wellington, thence to Christchurch for the purpose of making inquiry and report,ins as to the desirableness of the Government spending £0000 to subsidise a similar contribution of £t>ooo by the property owners of Canterbury to protect the Crown lands and private lands there from the spread of rabbits-. Mr Lawry proposes to return from Wellington overland via the Central Railway route as far as Stratford. From that point he will ride over the proposed rente for connecting TaraiuUi with Auckand by rail.
