Loxdos, October 120. Tin-; Muliinesiaii mission stoauier Southern Cross, which sailed some clays ago for Australian waters, encountered the full force of the recent, gale in the Channel, and was forced to take shelter at Covves, in the Isle of Wight. It was then found that she bad been strained by the heavy weather, necessitating her being dismantled. She is expected to bo detained three weeks undergoing repairs.
