Sir, —As a'tiro in this towu would be very disastrous, as witness the scare on Sunday night, would it not be advisable for the Mayor to call n mee'.ing of the tradesmen of the town to discuss some plan, as a bettor protection, and means of preventing lire '! lam sure there are no tradespeople in the place who would begrudge a subscrip tion towards such an object.—l am, etc., E.
