Mr James McAllister, the secretary of the entertainineut.couirnittee, laid tho accounts in connection therewith before the meeting. These showed a credit balance of £IJ Bs, with .some small sums to come in, It was resolved that the amount be placed in the Bank of New Zealand, Hamilton, Messrs lwersen and Corboy to sign cheques. The Chairman reported having laid off the cemetery ground, and submitted a plan showing the divisions for the various denominations, etc. This was approved of. Cordial votes of thanks were passed to the entertainment committee, particularly to the indefatigable secretary, Mr McAllister, to the ladies who had kindly provided refreshments, and also to Thk Waikato Timus for free advertising. Aftt r the cemetery business had been disposed of, a friendlv discussion upon tho coming election took place, This was finally adjourned until alter the candidates have delivered themselves of their political views. During the day the local member of Mr Lake's central committee called upon a good many electors who, with very few exceptions, were found to be strongly in favour of Mr Lake's candidature, and a good local committee was formod to meet that gentleman when he arrives here. V few of our electors aro still undecided as to who is the best man. but it is confidently believed that by polling day oven these will ha ve laid aside their doubts and have determined, like the historical publican, " to put on their top-boots and vote for tho gentlemanly interest."
