FOOTBALL.

A mbktixi; of the members of the Hamilton Football Club was held in Tub Waikato Ti.mks Buildings on Saturday evening. Mr R. J. Gwynne reported, with reference to his visit to Auckland in connection with the Hamilton-Huntly protest that tho decision of the Rugby Union had, been deferred till Thursday next. The question of getting a Waikato team to go to Auckland was discussed, but found to be impracticable, every Saturday up to the 17th October being engaged in some way. It was decided, however, to communicate with the other Waikato clubs with a view of arranging a match Upper v. Lower Waikato, on October 10th, at Hamilton, in aid uf Mis Sibbin. Should this match be arranged, it is likely to be a very good one, and there should be a good attendance The Upper Waikato team would consist of players: residing south of Ngaruawahia, and the Lower team of players residing as far as north Twakau; of course.not including any members of the Auckland senior clubs. A gold medal, presented at the beginning of the season by Mrs Bright, of the Commercial Hotel, Hamilton, for the best all-round play during the season, was awarded to Mr J. Gilletl, and a silver medal, presented by a member of tho club, was awarded to Mr li. Hume.
