Ma.vv settlers in this district have for some years given up the usual |ilaii of growing wheat, nats, and potatoes only, and have grown large quantities of carrots, peas, onions, etc. In the pa>t, onions were found to piy very well and large q luilitios v.vie grown. Tliis year the crop generally is a failure, and in most cases the onions have been ploughed up. The failure of the crop will be a considerable loss, especially to those who had planted several acres.— (Pukokobe Correspondent).
