ACCIDENT AT HAMILTON,

A very painful accident happened to Miv Wyatt, a member of the Salvation Armv, residing at the northern end of No 1. Hamilton West, on Sunday moraine, at about a quarter tj 11 o'clock. As the Army were holding an open-air meeting at the junction of Hood-street and Angleseastreet, prompt assistance was rendered, the cirt being removed from the top of Mrs Wyatt, when she was carried acioss the road to Mr T. King's residence. I >r. Kenny, who lives dose by wasatmicec died in, and on examination was able to inform her friends that the sufferer had escaped with a very severe shaking. The shafts and splash-board of the cart were smashed to atoms, and the only thing that sived Mrs Wyatt from serious inquiry was the unevenness of the ground which prevented tho cart from resting upon her. Had it been otherwise, the result most probably would have proved fatal; or at any rate attended with very serious results.
