MR REYNOLDS AT TE AWAMUTU.
A .meeting of the milk-suppliers was held at the factory, Tn Awimutn, and was well attended, thus showing tho great interest taken in the dairying industry in the district. After many shakes of the hand, Mr Reynolds went into the details of his trip to England, and then went on to explain that his company wished to make choe«a this season in place of butter at the Te Awamutu factory. This came as a surprise to the milk-suppliers, until the price per gallon was announced at 3d for the whole term of nine months—September to May. Tho question of calf-foeding had evidently bepn rockoned upon as a very important part of the season's operations, now that store cattle are advancing so much in value ; but after due consideration it was unanimously agreed to accept the offer, it being found that the extra jjd for the whole period would quite make up the difference to be obtained from the skimmed milk for calffeeding. Messrs Reynold* and Co. have decided to make cheese at this factory, seeing that the plant and appliances are about the best in New Zealand, and further, that the district is considered one of the most suitable for the purpose. The cheese turned nut at tho Te Awamntu factory in days past waH much sought after, and Messrs Reynolds and Co. are fortunate in having obtained the services of Mr J. Bannatyne, who ran the factory during that period, and made cheese second to none in the colony. The whole of tho cheese will be .sent to England, for the purpose of thoroughly testing the market.
