WAITOA ROAD BOARD
THE ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board took place in the Nottingham Castle Hotel, Morrinsville, last Saturday. Present!: Messrs W. P. Chepmell (in the chair), J. Horrell, R. Parr, and J. Turnbull.—Applications were received for making the following alterations in the valuation roll:—W. Abbey to bo put in lieu of C. Collins in respect of Section 920, Block XI., To Aroha ; J. Bridgman to be put in lieu of Russell Brothers, in respect of property at Tahuroa ; Thomas Stanley to be put in lieu of J. Hill, in respect of Sections 45, 4li, and 47, Block XL. To Aroha; J. Latimer to be put in lieu of T. Kennedy in respect of Section 20. Block XL, Te Aroha; R. Stark to be put in lieu of G. H. Bleasdale. in respect of property at Richmond: E. Brokenshiro to be put in lieu of H. J. Hawkins, in respect of Section 24, Block XII, Te Aroha. The clerk was instructed to take the necessary steps to get these alterations made.—The engineer reported that he had let the work of repairing the Piako-iti road, leading to the Mount on the Richmond Downs, fnr £10, of which amount half is to be contributed by the occupiers of the property.—The engineer handed in a cheque'received from Mr Andrew Holden amounting to £20, being the amount of subscription towards cost of the To Kawana road outfall drain.— The Engineer reported that the work on the Ngutumanga Road, towards the cost of which Mr R. Burke promised to contribute a third, has been completed at a cost of £20 165,0f which Mr Burke will pay £018s Bil.— A letter was received from tho Commissioner of Crown Linda reporting that the sum of £13 7s lid was due to the Board on tho Ist August from thirds of deferred payment and perpetual lease lands. Of this sum, £6 8s (id are available for expenditure, and the Board proposes to expend the amount as follows:—£4 10s 10d on Kershaw's Road, 7s 5d on outfall drain near the cemetery, 3s on the Ngutumanga Road, 19s (>d on drainage works at Waihou, and 7s 9d on the road near the Waihou aaleyard.—Mr E. H. Grey and Jas. Gordon interviewed the Board with the vie.v of Retting further improvements done on the Maungatapu Road. It was resolved that the engineer inspect the road and report at next meeting.—Accounts amouuting to £57 5s 9d were passed for payment. .
