ALLEGED ARSON.
A vou.v; man n.im-iJ Willi mi Middl.-tun was committed for trial at'fi AfiU.i on Tuesday last, for alleged arson ; ho was taken to Auckland yesterd.-iy by Constiililo Wild. The manager and proprietor of the Piiiko flax mill both gave evidence to the effect that the accused had bueu ro-.-Biitly discharged, because he did not do his work proporly, and also hec.ui a c hi; persisted in smoking. After his dismissal he cams back and shortly afterward a largo blaz» and smoke were seen issuing from a heap of tow, which ncciscd was charged with having maliciously set on fire.
