I wns very pleased to see that it tequired nothing of a stronger nature than a letter to cause them to give credit where credit is due. I imagine it will increase Mr DavieVs stock of knowledge to learn that the letter would never have appeared in Thk Waikato Timks or anywliero else had not " Innocentus" been personally lequestcd as a tavonr by Mr M iyes to insert the letter, the contcuts of which Mr Mayus was thoroughly conversant with before it appeared in print. Probably Mr Davies, us [jj " doesn't think much of my taste," may cast some doubts on tho reliability jf tho above stxtemeut ; but if such a thing should occur, I am at auy timo propared to call on a gentleman as a witness to the correctness of the above statement, whose word will be a suHicieut guarantee, as lio holds a prominent mid honourable position of trust in Hamilton.
