PRESENTATION TO MR G. H. CARTER.
At the close of tho animal meeting of tin; South Auckland Racing Club yesterday, the Chairman (Mr (}v«r<?c IvkeeumbH) said that he. had n very pleasant duty to perform. A large number of the members wore anxious to show Mr Carter tin l Hon. Sec. to the Club, the manner in which they had ::ppreciate,] his untirinf? efforts on behalf of the Club, and he hud very crreat pleasure in handing him a purse of sovereigns which hud been subscribed by the member ;of the Club. Mr H. Carter, in reply, said that he was nimble to thank the members for their appreciation of his sen ices in words, but lie would endeavour to do so in his efforts on behalf nf the Club. A vote of thanks to Mr G. Edgecumbe concluded the meeting.
