The liabilities amount to £!)3 Is lid, and the assets £09 I2< 21. The amount paid away in stakes during trie yr ? ar was AJlilO, —The repott was rend us follows Gentlemen :_ By the balancesheet, which has been in the hands of all the members for the past week, you will see that the committee started the yeai commencing Ist August, 1800, with some £40 odd to the bad, but duriug the past season have paid this off, besides having to provide for the heavy expenses incurred m the completion of the Hat and steeplechase courses and al.-o in making other necessary improvements—such as increasing the sad-dling-paddock, building a weighing-room, painting the grand stand, etc. Ihe stakes also were increased by MJtne £l>o or so over previous years. The course is now, comparatively speaking, completed ; the straight has been well drained (a work that was absolutely necessary), and in the course of a season or two, when the grass has formed a good fu'm sole, it will 3tand second to none outside Auckland. The club had the honour at the Autumn Meeting of entertaining His Excellency the Governor and friend*. The club now stands in that position that were wo to realise on our assets wo should be some £0 to the good, as per the balance-sheet. The next business will be the election of a committee for the ensuing year, and then, after that, the discussion of two days' racing in the summer, and various other matters.''—Mr Hay moved the adoption of the balance-sheet and report as read. Seconded by Dr. Kenny and carried. Nkw Hulks.—The Secretary read a copy of the new rules as drawn up by the committee, which are the same as the rules of the Auckland Club altered to suit the local requirements of this club. The principal points in the new rules were providing for fchn election of lifo members on-payment of £10, committee of twelve, decision of the stowards to be final, all members in arroars for a fortnight after the Ist August to be debarred from privileges of the club, bookmakers to be charged a fee to be fixed by the committee.—Mr Swarbrick moved the confirmation of the rules.—Seconded by Dr. Kenny and carried. —An additional rule was added to the effect that the committee have power to appoint eight persons to act as official representatives in the out districts, with power to act and vote on the committee. CoMJnrruK. —The following gentlemen were then proposed as a committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs G. lvlgecumbe, Hav, IV. Kenny, W. Booth, Windsor, Coates, McNicol, Slade, Barton, Jolly, W. Cus*on, Oyer, T. G. Sander, Browning, J. Cassidv, L. Cussen and Bach. On a ballot being "taken, the following were declared elected: — Messrs G. Kdgecumbe, W. Cusson, Kenny, Hav, Coatos, Booth, Windsor, Barton, McNicol, T. G. Sondes. Slade and Bach. SuiWEK Meeting.—Mr Barton proposed that this c-liib holds a two cousecutive days' meeting. He was always in favour of two days, ns the club was giving too much money to make a. substantial profit on a one day':-, meeting, but would do better by holding a two days' meeting, and ho thought it best to hold it in the summer, as they would get the best weather then. Dr Kenny seconded the proposal.—Tho Secretary said the club had given about £100 at summer meetings, and by adding iinothor £200 they would have sufficient for two days and bo able to provide races for local horses. The oxpenses for the two days would scarcely bo moro than for the one day, and the nominations would almost pay the additional money leaving the totalisator and other monies as profit. The club must either cut the stakes down or have two consecutive days' racing. As a progressive club they could not afford to cut the stakes down, and ho did not think it practicable to hold throe separate days ns 'hat would mean £400 per day with considerable expense.—Mr A. Bach supported the proposal. The expenses for horse owners, the number of whom would bo increased, would not be much more for two days. He advocated a local race being put on for each day's racing. Several other members spoke in favour of the proposal which was adopted unanimously. Si'rtsrjiilPriON'S.—The Secretary reminded the members that under the new rules all subsciiptions should be paid before the middle of August, and said that he would be glad to receive subscriptions as soon as possible, as there wore many working expenses which had to ba met outside those immediately connected with the meeting. Mr Barton pointed out that now members were getting the same privileges for three moetiiiKs that they previously had for two.
