FRANCE AND RUSSIA.

Tub Czar has wired to President Carnot that the presence of the French ileet at Cronstadt is a testimony of the profound sympathy and the uniting of France and Russia. Provident" Carnot replied deeply acknowledging the cordiality tendered to the fleet-. July :;o. A strong impression prevails in Franco that the obstacles to the eventual alliance with Russia have, b icn removed by the enthusiastic reception accorded to the French squadron. Russian officers however, are. reported to be loss enthusiastic. St. Petersburg, July 'jO. The Czar assured the French officers that he never believed republican soldiers or sailors could have such bearing as the men of their squadron possessed. July ;w. The Admiral and officers of the French squadron were accorded a hearty reception on their arrival at St. Petersburg.
