HARAPEPE.

The School.—ln The Waikaio Times of Saturday, the iTith, there was a report of the last meeting of the Board of Education, and in reference to this school it was decided to close it, as the attendance has come down to only four pupils. Now this is quite untrue, as we have nine, and the average attendance for the last threo months lias been nearly that. If tho school is closed, it is the fault of the people of the district, who, if they acted right and sent their children to school, as they should do, wo would have an attendance of fifteen. MKTBOKOI.OOICAL.—The weather in this district has been of late very severe. Hard frosts, cold south winds, coughs, colds, and all those sort of unpleasant things are very prevalent.—(Own correspondent),
