Salmon writes last night as follows : —" The Editor, Waik.ito Times, —Dear Sir: Great interest is taken in Salmon's word competition, and I have competitors from all parts of the Waikato, which clearly shows mo the value of tny advertisements in your paper. I have now 35 papers in, most of them over 2000 words and some over 3000, though the latter are mostly informal." The competition does not closo until this evening, and it is folly expected that the number of entries will reach 40.
