HAMILTON BOROUGH SALEYARDS
Thi: Mayor of Hamilton made an application to the Government some time in April last for Sections 12, I'S and -14. At that timo it was considered advisable; to secure these sections to provide for a future gravel supply for the Borough. A further application was forwarded yesterday, again pressing the matter, as owing to ttio rapid' development and increase of the number of cattlo and sheep brought in to the monthly sales, an extension of accommodation has become imperative, and these sections will alford an excellent site on which to erect sheep pens. At one time it was snpnosed that t!i-p.su sections had been vested in tho Justice Department. This is nit tho c.isp, however, and as the Borough i.-i still entitled to a fuither grant of some tocty acres of endowment under "The Town Regulations Act,' , there should bo no difficulty in the matter. Copies of the application have been forwarded to Mr Bryce, asking him to press the subject upon the attention of the Government.
