(■V TKI.BGIt.U'II -OWN COItUESI'ONDENT.) Auckland, Last Night. At tlin Supreme Court to-day, Mr Justice Connolly gave iin important judfrmont in bankruptcy. Ho ruled (1) that a wastes creditor was not entitled to include in his preferential claim any sum for wages in lieu of notice ; (2) that if any such claim be niado it must be inside under Section 118 of the Bankruptcy Act, anil the amount assessed in the manner there directed and proceeded for as an ordinary debt. At the Police Court to-day, a respeetablelooking young man named Joseph William Kennedy, alias Juseph Watson Kennedy, was committed for trial on several charges of having forged and utterud valueless cheques. The cheques had been civet) to tradesmen, anil goods and change obtained.
